The heavier or more over weight we
are, the risk of contracting health problems is much higher. Even if there are people who are considered over-weight
or have a higher BMI but do not have any form of ailment at some point, studies
reveal that the weight related diseases and other complications do occur as the
age increases, usually at the age of 35. There are also studies that show the
benefit of drinking coffee. It
apparently lowers the risk of heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer and
Parkinson’s disease. Of course it is not
a guaranteed 100 % lowered risk. But
keeping or aiming for a healthy weight lowers the risk even more and coffee may
still hold the answer, just not in the kind you drink from a cup.
You may have heard of green coffee
bean extract. It is simply the extract
from raw or unroasted coffee and its weight loss wonder lies in the fact that
it has not yet gone through the process of roasting in high temperatures. This is because green coffee bean is rich in
chlorogenic acid, an antioxidant. Roasting
significantly lowers the level of chlorogenic acid in the coffee bean. Green
coffee bean is also packed with minerals, magnesium, chromium and caffeine of
course.
Antioxidants prevent oxidation of
other molecules. Oxidation is not a good
thing because it causes free radicals that cause damage to the cells or even
its death. Cell death and damage leads to our bodies being unable to function
well. The antioxidants present in green
coffee beans help keep our bodies functioning well by slowing down the
release of dietary sugar into our blood stream.
The most common diet nowadays comprises
of processed food filled with carbohydrates and simple sugars. Home cooked
meals are more likely to be healthier but for most of us, this is not a luxury
we can afford. Fast food and microwave dinners are the usual
fanfare and has “unhealthy” stamped all over it no matter what the
advertisement say. The good news is that
by taking a recommended dose of green coffee bean extract every day, absorbing
harmful amounts of dietary sugars from these “unhealthy” foods can be
prevented. They are simply expelled without being processed. So there is less
sugar (glucose) in the blood and even fewer available to be processed as stored
body fat.
Magnesium and Chromium in the green
coffee beans help even more because it helps improve insulin functions. This is great for people with Type 2 diabetes
because their insulin functions are impaired.
Caffeine is a known mood booster and
better mood means people are less likely to over eat. Stress brings certain people to crave for fat
filled and sugar rich foods and the caffeine in the system keeps the stress
levels in check and keeps the cravings at a minimum.
